This application allows the sharing of an RM5800 "overlay" scale between multiple applications. It also acts as a proxy, providing access to the RM5800 "overlay" scale to applications that only support serial scales. ## Prerequisites Must install com-0-com virtual serial port. See installation section for instructions (this is important!). ## Installation ### Install com-0-com Download com-0-com v3.x: https://sourceforge.net/projects/com0com/files/com0com/3.0.0.0/com0com-3.0.0.0-i386-and-x64-signed.zip/download Install com-0-com. For options, only include "Start menu shortcuts" and "COM# -> COM#". Ince installation completes, check "Run setup". Take note of the COM port pair created; you will need this later. Keep thins window open, you will need it for configuration. ### Install RM5800 Scale Proxy Run the RM5800ScaleProxyInstaller.msi file. Application will be configured to automatically start on user login. ## Configuration ### Configure com0com In the com0com configuration, select the newly created port pair and check the two "Enable buffer overrun" checkboxes. Click Apply. ### Configure RM5800 Scale Proxy Start the RM5800 Scale Proxy. Shortcut is located in "shell:common startup". Right-click tray icon. Choose "Settings". Set the "Output port" to the higher of the two COM ports observed above. Click "Ok". Right-click tray icon, select "Enable". ### Post-Config Configure your target application to use the lower of the two COM ports observed above as the serial scale port.
